Starting August 2, new transparency requirements for the use of AI will come into effect in the EU: mandatory labeling of AI-generated content, disclosure of deepfakes, and strict penalties for violations. Generative AI systems will have a transitional period until December 2026.
In February, the EU's foreign trade surplus dropped by 60% due to a significant decline in exports to the United States, which was linked to changes in tariff policies. Exports to the US fell by more than a quarter, and there was also a decrease in shipments to China.
The European Commission has reported a cyberattack on the cloud infrastructure hosting the Europa platform, which resulted in data being stolen from several websites. The Commission's internal systems were not affected, and the investigation is ongoing.
