LG and Nvidia are establishing a robotics center in Seoul
LG and Nvidia are joining forces to advance robotics and artificial intelligence by establishing a new center and large-scale infrastructure for robot training in Seoul. The partnership includes integrating technologies across consumer, industrial, and automotive sectors, as well as modernizing data centers and energy solutions.
Crius
LG is ramping up its efforts in robotics and artificial intelligence by establishing a new Robotics Center in Seoul on July 1, 2026. This division will bring together all stages—from development and manufacturing to sales—with the goal of accelerating the growth of physical AI systems that can directly interact with their environment using advanced robotics.
Global Collaboration with Nvidia
The company’s restructuring is part of a broad international alliance with Nvidia. Together, they plan to build a large-scale infrastructure for artificial intelligence. A key element will be a major data factory in Seoul, expected to be completed this year. This facility will generate both high-quality operational data and synthetic data created using Nvidia Cosmos models. The resulting data will be used to train LG’s foundational robot models, better preparing future generations of machines for real-world tasks.
Integration of Technologies and Business Units
The partnership spans several LG Group business areas. For the development of home robots, Nvidia Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab frameworks are being used, allowing devices to be tested in virtual environments before real-world deployment. The Nvidia Isaac GR00T model, designed to enable robots to perform reasoning and logical actions similar to humans, is also being integrated. In the industrial and commercial sectors, subsidiaries Robostar and Bear Robotics will be more closely integrated under the One LG Solution strategy.
Expanding Cooperation in Other Fields
The agreement also includes modernization of data centers and mobility solutions. LG and Nvidia are jointly developing liquid-cooled modular AI factories based on the Nvidia DSX standard. LG Uplus is responsible for building new large-scale data centers, while LG Energy Solution provides specialized energy solutions. In the automotive sector, work is underway to integrate driver assistance systems and autonomous driving features on the Nvidia Drive platform.
