Microsoft has changed its policy toward independent security researchers following community criticism, abandoning legal threats and strengthening cooperation. However, key Windows vulnerabilities remain unresolved, and new exploits continue to emerge.
In the March 2026 Patch Tuesday update, Microsoft addressed 79 vulnerabilities, including two zero-day flaws and critical issues in Windows and Office. The focus was primarily on security, with no new features introduced.
Microsoft warns that starting in June 2026, old Secure Boot certificates will no longer be valid. Users are advised to check their PC’s compatibility in advance and update their firmware to ensure they continue receiving future security updates.
The February 2026 updates for Windows 11 bring important security enhancements, bug fixes, and prepare users for changes in the Secure Boot infrastructure related to certificate expiration. New features have also been added, and the system’s capabilities have been expanded.
