According to recent reports, Apple plans to release updated versions of the Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini in the fall of 2026. The design of these devices will remain largely unchanged, with the main focus on more powerful processors that will support the new AI-based Siri voice assistant. The launch of these products was originally scheduled for 2024, but due to delays related to the integration of the new Siri, the release has been pushed back by about two years.
Among the new smart home devices, Apple is expected to introduce its first home hub, with a launch window set between October 2026 and spring 2027. The device is rumored to feature an almost square 7-inch display and will run a new operating system that combines elements of tvOS, watchOS, and iOS. The home screen will include app icons and widgets.
The hub will be able to control smart home devices, display video feeds from security cameras, and support FaceTime video calls. The Interlink feature will allow users to communicate with family members in other rooms where an Apple Home Hub is also installed. Facial recognition will automatically identify users, so each resident will see their own personalized widgets, calendar entries, and contacts.
Apple is also working on a more advanced version of the hub with a 9-inch display mounted on a robotic arm.
