International company Tenaris has opened a service center in Suriname to support the country's first deepwater oil and gas project, GranMorgu. The center will provide advanced services and logistics for the TotalEnergies, APA Corporation, and Staatsolie consortium.

Global steel pipe manufacturer Tenaris has opened a new service center in Suriname to support the GranMorgu project—the country’s first deepwater development, managed by the French company TotalEnergies.
Service Center Overview
The center, located in Paramaribo, is designed to provide a full range of services, including the supply of casing and tubing, as well as related operations. The facility covers an area of 74,500 square meters and is equipped to store up to 15,000 tons of products. The center includes a logistics yard and an inspection line, where pipes are prepared and checked.
Support for the GranMorgu Project
The service center was established to meet the needs of the GranMorgu project, which requires advanced production solutions and services, as well as adherence to high safety standards.
Partnership Structure
The GranMorgu project is being developed by a consortium consisting of TotalEnergies (40%), the American independent company APA Corporation (40%), and Suriname’s state-owned company Staatsolie (20%).
Field Development Prospects
The field is expected to begin operations in 2028, utilizing a large floating production, storage, and offloading unit. The planned production capacity of the complex is 220,000 barrels of oil and 500 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.
