WhatsApp is developing a new feature that will allow users to schedule messages to be sent at a specific date and time, without the need for third-party apps. This feature is currently in development and is not yet available, even for beta testing.
Information about the upcoming feature was discovered in the latest WhatsApp beta version 26.7.10.72 for iOS. It is expected that after the official release, the feature will also become available on Android devices.
At the moment, Android users who want to schedule messages have to rely on third-party services, which can pose security and privacy risks. iOS device owners can use automation through the Shortcuts app, but this method is less convenient compared to a built-in feature.
According to a published screenshot, the new feature will appear as a separate section in the chat settings, where all scheduled messages for the selected chat will be displayed. Although the screenshot shows a group chat, the feature is expected to be available for individual conversations as well.
