During the State of Play presentation, Sucker Punch studio unveiled a free expansion for Ghost of Yotei called Legends. This add-on will be available to all PS5 owners starting March 10 and will be included in patch 1.5.

New Features in Legends

The Legends expansion introduces a full-fledged online co-op mode focused on collaborative gameplay rather than PvP battles. Players can team up with friends to face mystical versions of the Six of Yotei. The main emphasis is on teamwork against formidable enemies.

Main Game Modes

Legends will feature three key modes:

1. Survival

In this mode, up to four players join forces to fend off waves of enemies across four different maps. The primary objective is to maintain control of the map. After capturing an area, players can activate a Blessing that grants a combat advantage. If control is lost, a Curse is triggered, making progression more challenging.

2. Story

This mode is designed for two players and includes 12 missions. Every three missions unlock a special "Incursion"—a large-scale fortress battle for four players, connected to members of the Six of Yotei. At the end of each fortress, players will face a mystical version of one of the bosses: Spider, Oni, Kitsune, or Snake.

3. Raid

The third mode will launch in April, allowing players to challenge the two remaining members of the Six of Yotei—Dragon and Lord Saito.

Character Classes

Players can choose from four different classes:

• Samurai — Wields an odachi and has the widest selection of weapons.
• Archer — Uses a spear and can carry additional ranged weapons.
• Ronin — Specializes in dual katanas and support skills.
• Shinobi — Relies on stealth and uses a kusarigama.

Each class features a unique combat style and weapon set, allowing players to find the best fit for their preferred playstyle.
