ChatGPT Now Supports Multiple Google Accounts
ChatGPT now allows you to connect multiple Google accounts at the same time, making it possible to manage your emails, calendars, and contacts from a single window. This new feature is available on paid plans and streamlines the management of both personal and work tasks.
Crius
Starting August 28, ChatGPT introduced the ability to connect multiple Google accounts at once, including both personal and work profiles. Now, users can view emails and calendars from different accounts in a single window, making it easier to manage both personal and professional tasks. Previously, the system allowed only one Google account per plugin, but this limitation has been removed. The new feature supports simultaneous use of multiple Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Contacts accounts within a single conversation. For example, you can now view events from two calendars at once or search emails across several inboxes.
This feature is available worldwide for users on Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans via the web version, desktop apps, and on iOS and Android devices. Free accounts and the Go plan do not support this functionality.
Permissions for Gmail and Other Services
To work with Gmail, ChatGPT requests the gmail.modify permission, which allows it to read, create, and send emails on behalf of the user, except for permanently deleting messages without using the trash. For Google Calendar, the calendar.events permission is required, granting access to create and edit events. For Google Contacts, the permission is limited to reading contacts only. When a second account is added, the amount of accessible data doubles. For work accounts, the Google Workspace administrator determines which permissions are available, and without their approval, the connection will fail due to access errors.
Data Usage Features
OpenAI states that its general models are not trained on data from connected Google applications. However, there are three exceptions: data included in ChatGPT's responses; conversations sent as feedback (such as likes or dislikes); and information that the user manually copies, pastes, or uploads from a Google application. If you disable the "Improve model for everyone" feature, these data transfer paths are blocked. When ChatGPT's memory is enabled, it may use information from connected accounts to personalize the current chat session.
Managing Accounts and Deleting Data
Users can unlink a Google account in ChatGPT settings at any time, and access will be revoked immediately. However, existing conversations and saved memories remain untouched and require separate deletion. Deleted chats are permanently removed within 30 days. It is recommended to periodically check which connections to ChatGPT remain active.
