While the Steam Controller and Steam Machine are already available for purchase, Valve’s new VR headset, called Steam Frame, has yet to be released. At this time, the company has not announced a launch date or pricing for the device, but preparations are ongoing, including regular shipments of components.
According to the latest shipment data, Valve received another batch of Steam Frame units on August 6. The documentation lists a VR controller, an HMD (head-mounted display for virtual reality), and an accessory for the VR controller, indicating that Valve is stockpiling devices ahead of launch.
The accessory for the VR controller is believed to be part of a comfort kit being prepared for the headset. This kit includes an ergonomic top strap designed to enhance comfort during extended gaming sessions.
With the latest delivery, Valve has now received a total of 22 batches of Steam Frame units, suggesting a significant inventory ahead of launch. While this does not confirm the headset is ready for release, the ongoing shipments point to active preparations for the product’s debut.
The list of games compatible with Great on Frame is regularly updated. Additionally, the headset recently passed FCC certification, which is typically one of the final steps before an official product launch.
