Lenovo released BIOS update version N3CN42WW for the original Legion Go about two months ago. After installing this update, some users encountered serious issues that rendered their devices completely unusable.
The first reports of malfunctions appeared about a month ago. One Legion Go owner shared that his device stopped working immediately after the BIOS update. It took a lengthy search for a solution before he was able to restore functionality.
Since then, similar problems have been reported by other users. The most recent case was recorded on August 3, indicating that the issue is still ongoing. In one instance, the device worked normally before the update, but after the process was completed, it would no longer turn on. When attempting to start it, only a black screen appeared, although the power and controller indicators lit up. However, the system would not boot, effectively turning the device into a "brick."
The user followed all of Lenovo's recommended recovery steps, but none of them worked. As a result, the device was sent to a Lenovo service center, where it was determined that the warranty had expired. The repair cost was estimated at €237.16, despite the fact that the malfunction occurred after an official BIOS update.
At the time of publication, Lenovo has not officially acknowledged the problem or offered a solution. While the issue affects a limited number of users, those running an earlier BIOS version are advised to avoid updating to N3CN42WW until a fix is released.
