HKC is developing a monitor with a 1300 Hz refresh rate.
HKC is developing a gaming monitor with a refresh rate of up to 1300 Hz, which could set a new standard for esports displays. The prototype will be unveiled at the ChinaJoy 2026 exhibition.
Crius
In recent years, gaming monitor manufacturers have been actively increasing the refresh rates of their devices. After releasing an HKC monitor with an 800 Hz refresh rate last year, the company began developing a new model capable of operating in three modes and reaching a refresh rate of 1,300 Hz. Such performance could make ultra-high-speed esports displays the new standard for the mass market.
Technical Specifications and Features
The prototype of the new monitor is equipped with a Fast TN panel. Like other displays with extremely high refresh rates, the device likely lowers its resolution to boost speed, offering several operating modes. The new model surpasses the previously announced HKC monitor with a 1,080 Hz refresh rate, which supports 1,080 Hz at 720p resolution and 540 Hz at 1440p.
Technological Challenges
Modern esports equipment has already surpassed the 360 Hz and 500 Hz marks, but achieving four-digit refresh rates was previously considered a significant engineering challenge. Outputting 1,300 frames per second requires high bandwidth. The HKC monitor’s three-mode configuration is designed to address these technical limitations, though details about supported resolutions have not yet been disclosed.
Development Status and Prospects
Currently, the display is at the prototype stage, so there is no information about pricing or release dates. It also remains unclear whether modern games can run at frame rates above 1,000 frames per second. The monitor’s official presentation is scheduled for the ChinaJoy 2026 exhibition, which will take place on July 31.
