Xiaomi 18: Global Launch and New Flagship Models
The Xiaomi 18 series is expected to include four models, one of which will be a foldable smartphone. The focus will be on a global launch and introducing new features such as a secondary display and cameras with up to 200 MP resolution. The lineup will also adopt an updated global market strategy and improved technical specifications.
Crius
Recently, more and more confirmed information has emerged about the new Xiaomi 18 series models, as well as the foldable Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 smartphone, which was recently spotted in leaked photos. Detailed reports have surfaced revealing the features of the Xiaomi 18 lineup, along with data indicating significant changes in the company’s global flagship launch strategy.
Global Launch and Model Features
For the first time in several years, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Duo will be introduced simultaneously in multiple regions, including Europe. The device will feature a unique function—a secondary display integrated into the main camera module, similar to the solutions seen in the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max.
Translations related to this secondary display have already been found in the global Xiaomi Themes app. Additionally, information has been confirmed about a more flexible display on the rear panel of the next-generation Xiaomi 18 Pro, which will support more apps, games, and AI features. The Pro models are expected to be available on the global market.
Lineup Composition and Release Plans
According to data found in the HyperOS code and the IMEI database, the Xiaomi 18 series may include four models if the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 (codenamed Lhasa) is released as the Xiaomi 18 Fold. The fifth foldable Xiaomi smartphone will likely have a form factor similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 or iPhone Ultra and will run on the Xring O3 chipset. There is currently no confirmation of its release outside of China.
Cameras and Technical Specifications
The base Xiaomi 18 model, developed under the codenames Madrid or Q2, is expected to feature a 200-megapixel main camera and an ultra-wide lens, but may lack a telephoto lens. Earlier reports mentioned two 200-megapixel sensors, but this information has not yet been confirmed in HyperOS. The successor to the Xiaomi 17 will be launched globally, including in Europe, Japan, India, Turkey, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Russia.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro (codenamed Venice or Q1) is planned for release in Europe, Turkey, Indonesia, Taiwan, Russia, and Japan, but, according to current data, not in India. The smartphone will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 (Pro) processor, a 200-megapixel main camera (Smartsens SCC80XS or SCC90XS sensor), and a 200-megapixel telephoto lens (Samsung ISOCELL HP5 sensor). The battery capacity will be around 7000 mAh.
Flagship Models and Cancellation of the Ultra Version
The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, developed under the codenames Hong Kong or Q5, will become the top model with Leica cameras, as the release of the Xiaomi 18 Ultra appears to have been canceled. Instead, a larger Pro model will be launched globally, available in Europe, Turkey, Indonesia, Taiwan, Russia, Japan, and India. In addition to two 200-megapixel sensors for the main camera (Smartsens SCC90XS with LOFIC 3.0) and the telephoto lens, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera is also expected. The device will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor and feature an 8500 mAh battery.
