Offshore workers on the Elgin Franklin and North Alwyn platforms, located in the UK sector of the North Sea and managed by NeoNext+, have decided to support a strike.
A series of 24-hour stoppages is planned, with Unite union members set to participate. The industrial action will begin at 6:00 a.m. UK time on July 22 and 29, and will continue on August 5, 12, and 19, starting at the same time.
About 50 Unite union members are involved in the labor dispute. The reason for the strike is the rejection of pay increase offers of less than 3%.
The union has expressed full support for NeoNext workers in their demands for better working conditions, pay, and job security. Union representatives emphasize that offshore employees are highly skilled and, in their view, deserve a greater share of the profits generated by the operator thanks to their work. They also stress that the company has one last chance to make the right decision; otherwise, workers will be forced to continue their fight for their rights.
