Former Shell CEO appointed head of TES and sets course for green gas
Clare Harris, who has over 25 years of experience in the energy sector and previously held senior positions at Shell, has been appointed CEO of Tree Energy Solutions. The company develops projects focused on sustainable gas production and the expansion of renewable energy infrastructure in Europe and North America.

Former Shell executive appointed CEO of Tree Energy Solutions (TES), a company specializing in the development of renewable gas. Claire Harris has taken on this role, succeeding co-founder and current CEO Marco Alverà. Alverà, who previously led the Italian gas transmission operator Snam for six years before founding TES, will remain a shareholder and a member of the company’s board of directors.
Claire Harris brings over 25 years of experience in the energy sector, including more than 15 years in leadership roles at Shell. During her time at Shell, she managed assets in the North Sea, then in Qatar and Asia, overseeing the global liquefied natural gas division. Before joining TES, Harris spent two years as CEO of Power 2X, a company focused on investments and project development in the renewable energy sector.
Tree Energy Solutions is dedicated to building infrastructure that integrates renewable electricity, hydrogen, and existing gas networks. The company implements projects to produce sustainable gas derived from green hydrogen, suitable for transport through current gas infrastructure.
Currently, TES is developing a portfolio of e-NG and hydrogen projects in North America and Europe. These include the Live Oak project in the USA, supported by TotalEnergies and Japanese partners, the Mauricie project in Canada, the Jade energy hub in Wilhelmshaven, as well as a terminal platform in Germany and projects in Finland and Sweden.
