Appointments and Professional Background
Marc-André Gosselin will oversee the analysis of domestic economic developments. He has been with the Bank of Canada since 1999 and, since 2019, has served as Managing Director of the Canadian Economic Analysis Department, where he leads the assessment of the country's economic conditions and advises on monetary policy matters. Previously, he held the position of Deputy Managing Director of the Financial Stability Department.
Since 2023, Nicolas Vincent has served as an external Deputy Governor on the Governing Council. In his new permanent role, he will be responsible for analyzing international economic events and representing the Bank at G7 and G20 deputy-level meetings. Vincent began his career at HEC Montréal in 2007 as an associate professor and became a full professor in 2021. He holds a master's degree in economics from Queen's University and a PhD in economics from Northwestern University. His research interests include inflation, price dispersion, firm dynamics, inequality, housing prices, and household finance.
