Features of the Bugatti Destrier Design
For many years, Bugatti has incorporated a signature egg-shaped radiator grille into the design of its sports cars. The new Destrier model continues this tradition, standing out as a unique creation intended to be a legacy piece, passed down through generations as a true work of art.
Construction and Exterior
The Destrier is built on a carbon fiber monocoque chassis and is powered by a drivetrain similar to that of the Bolide track model introduced in 2020. Unlike the Bolide, which is focused on maximum performance, the Destrier emphasizes expressive and artistic exterior styling.
The car’s design features classic Bugatti elements: a wide oval radiator grille beneath a sculpted hood, the signature C-line running along the sides just below the panoramic windshield, and a rear wing inspired by the Chiron Profilée. The 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels highlight the car’s powerful stance and proportions. With a height of just one meter, it is the lowest Bugatti model ever produced.
The rear of the car is distinguished by four grouped exhaust pipes, elongated taillights, and a contoured spoiler. The body is finished in a deep Sapphire Celeste blue with a diamond-like shimmer, while exposed carbon fiber elements on the front splitter and rear diffuser are tinted to match the main color.
Interior
The cabin features brown leather, nubuck, and 3D-knitted fabric with copper threads. Smooth lines shape the seats and interior panels, while exposed carbon fiber accents frame the headrests and other details. The steering wheel, reminiscent of an aircraft yoke, is adorned with polished aluminum, evoking the armor of medieval knights.
The central console departs from conventional designs: instead of a multimedia screen and numerous buttons, there are two columns of physical switches with leather inserts, and the air vents mirror the arrangement of the rear exhaust pipes.
Technical Specifications
The Destrier is equipped with an 8.0-liter W16 engine with four turbochargers, just like the Bolide. The engine produces 1,578 horsepower, which is less than the Bolide’s 1,825 hp, but still more than enough to achieve impressive speeds.
Availability and Presentation
The price of the car has not been disclosed, but it is expected to be comparable to the Bolide’s price—around $4.62 million. The model already has an owner, but it will be showcased at Monterey Car Week in California this month, giving enthusiasts a chance to see it in person.
