A leading Shell top manager is moving to one of the highest positions at the Danish wind energy company Vestas.
Anna Mascolo will start at Vestas on Monday as President for Northern and Central Europe and Global Offshore. Previously, she served as Executive Vice President for Low Carbon Solutions at Shell.
Mascolo replaces Nils de Baar, who is stepping down from operational roles and will leave the company by the end of September.
In her new role, Mascolo will be responsible for sales, construction, service, and project development onshore in Northern and Central Europe, as well as for global offshore operations.
Before joining Vestas, Mascolo led Shell’s global aviation division and serves on the board of directors at Rolls-Royce SMR.
Under current CEO Wael Sawan, Shell has significantly scaled back its renewable energy activities, selling off part of its “green” energy assets and refocusing on its traditional oil and gas business.
