The update caused overheating and battery drain on the Galaxy Ultra.
Galaxy S25 Ultra and S24 Ultra users have reported rapid battery drain, overheating, and slower charging speeds following the July update. Samsung has not yet released any official comments on the issue.
Crius
Several owners of Galaxy S25 Ultra and S24 Ultra smartphones have reported issues with rapid battery drain and device overheating after installing the July security update. Some users have also noticed a decrease in charging speed.
Nature of the Problems
The July update, which was intended to improve the performance of the Galaxy S25 Ultra and S24 Ultra, has had the opposite effect for some users. In recent days, there has been a surge in reports about a significant reduction in battery life following the update.
One Galaxy S25 Ultra owner shared that after the update, their battery dropped from about 85% at midnight to just 5% by noon, with only two hours of active screen use. They also observed a 5–7% battery loss per hour in standby mode, which had not happened before.
A Galaxy S24 Ultra user also reported that their device now lasts much less on a single charge after the July patch, whereas previously the smartphone could go an entire day without needing to be recharged.
Scope of the Issue
Other users on forums have confirmed experiencing similar difficulties. In addition to faster battery drain, increased device heating has been noted. Some owners have also faced slower charging speeds, and attempts to resolve the issue have so far been unsuccessful.
Manufacturer's Response
At this time, Samsung has not issued any official statements regarding these reports. It is unclear whether a fix is planned. Until the next software update is released, users affected by the July patch can only wait for a possible solution in future versions.
