Bentley is preparing to launch its first electric vehicle, named Torcal, expanding its lineup of luxury cars. So far, only the model name and an image of its rear have been released, with the full unveiling scheduled for September.
The company traditionally names its vehicles after natural landmarks. The Torcal model is named after El Torcal de Antequera in Spain—a famous karst landscape known for its massive rock formations, cliffs, and labyrinths shaped by nature over millions of years.
Detailed technical specifications have not yet been disclosed. Observations suggest that the test vehicles have an SUV body style with a sloping roofline. The exterior design is reminiscent of the previously presented EXP 15 concept, but the Torcal features headlights in a more restrained style than typically seen on electric cars.
The interior is expected to feature a large central multimedia display and luxurious finishes. Preliminary information indicates the vehicle will be about five meters long, making it more compact than the Bentayga, and it should be able to travel over 480 km on a single charge. Details about configurations and pricing will be announced after the presentation in London.
For comparison, the Bentley Bentayga starts at around $230,000. The Torcal is expected to be priced in a similar or slightly more accessible range.
The official premiere of the electric vehicle will take place on September 23, when all details and specifications of the new model will be revealed.
