Apple is preparing new iPhones and a mysterious device

The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models are expected to be unveiled in September of this year. There are also reports that Apple plans to release another device this year, while the remaining iPhone 18 series models, along with two additional devices, will debut next year.

Earlier, there were rumors about a possible foldable device from Apple, presumably the iPhone Fold, launching in September alongside the iPhone 18 series. However, new information suggests the launch has been postponed to a later date, and also mentions an iPhone model that had not been previously reported. This device is expected to be introduced in March of next year.

According to available information, shipments of the iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra could begin in December of this year. A September release was previously anticipated, but the plans have since been adjusted. Apple has used a similar strategy before: when the iPhone X launched, the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus were released in September, while the iPhone X arrived in December.

It is also reported that the iPhone 18 launch in March next year will be accompanied by the release of the iPhone 18e and either the iPhone 18 Plus or iPhone Air 2. There have been previous mentions of these devices, but the name iPhone 18 Plus is intriguing, as Apple discontinued the "Plus" suffix with the iPhone 17 series, replacing it with iPhone 17 Air. A similar situation could occur with the iPhone 18 series, and it seems unlikely that the company will return to the Plus naming convention.

Sales of the iPhone Air were not particularly high compared to other models in the lineup: after a strong start, demand declined. Nevertheless, the results were sufficient for Apple to release a second generation of the device.

In September this year, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to be introduced according to Apple’s proposed phased launch plan. More details about other models in the series are expected to emerge in the coming months.
