The Carson City District Court on Friday issued a temporary injunction prohibiting the prediction market operator Kalshi from offering event contracts to state residents without the appropriate license.
The court granted a request from the Nevada Gaming Control Board. As a result, Kalshi is now barred from allowing Nevada residents to place financial bets on its platform related to sports, elections, and entertainment.
The temporary injunction will remain in effect as long as Kalshi continues to operate in the state without obtaining the necessary license from Nevada regulators.
